13 OTTOBRE...SITUAZIONE UMANITARIA...

La situazione umanitaria in Siria si va velocemnede deteriorando. I continui bombardamenti e la mancanza di strutture adeguate mettono i pochi medici ancora rimasti davanti a continue sfide. Salvare una vita umana è diventato molto difficile. I bombardamenti di questi mesi hanno interessato non solo obiettivi militari ma molti obiettivi civili tra cui case, scuole ed ospedali. I danni riportati dagli ospedali sono ingenti. Molte strutture sono inagibili. Parallelamente sono nati piccoli ambulatori nei quali si curano e si assistono feriti di ogni tipo, soprattutto feriti da arma da fuoco o scegge di proiettili. Quello che piu’ colposce è il grande numero di bambini, a volte colpiti da cecchini ma molto spesso rimasti sotto le macerie dello loro abitazioni. La guerra è diventata come un gioco, si spara a tutto e senza regole. Gli ospedali sono al collasso. Manca il personale, molti medici sono fuggiti dalle zone interessate dagli scontri. I feriti vengono messi nei corridoi, sui pochi letti ma anche sul pavimento dove , ogni centimetro di questi ambulatori è coperto di sangue sinonimo di un lavoro continuo, incessante. Le sale operatorie sono poche come pochi sono i chirurghi. Molto spesso non cè tempo per delicati inteventi e si procede ad amputazioni per evitare gravi infezioni. Per chi non c’è niente da fare resta un posto sul marcapiede davanti all’ospedale, coperto da un lenzuolo. I feriti arrivano in continuazione, con ogni mezzo, caricati su camioncini della speranza. Alcuni, quando vengono feriti, pregano di morire perchè sanno che la possibilità di salvarsi è minima mentre la sofferenza a cui vanno incontro infinita.......
The humanitarian situation in Syria is deteriorating very queekly. The constant bombings and the lack of adequate facilities bring the few doctors still remained to constant challenges. Save a human life has become very difficult. The bombings of recent months have affected not only military targets but many civilian targets including homes, schools and hospitals. Damage from hospitals are huge. Many facilities are unusable. In parallel we can find small surgeries in which they take care and assist wounded of all kinds, especially wounded by gunfire or  pice of bullets. What is impresses is  the large number of children, sometimes hit by snipers or remained under the rubble of their homes. The war has become as a game, they shoot at everything and without rules. Hospitals are collapsing. There is lacks in staff, many doctors have fled from areas affected by fighting. You can find wounded in the hallways, on the few beds but also on the floor where every inch is covered with the blood of a continuous, incessant work. There are a few operating rooms as few are surgeons. Very often there is no time to delicate and amputations will avoid serious infections. If there is nothing to be done there remains a place in the street in front of the hospital, covered by a sheet. The wounded arrive all the time, by all means, loaded onto pickup trucks of hope. Some, when they are injured, they pray to die because they know that the possibility of escape is minimal while the suffering will be endless.
