OCTOBER 20....TUNISIA...

TUNISIA.....Il 23 ottobre scade il primo anno di attività dell’Assemblea Costituente. Le grandi aspettative del popolo tunisino sono state disattese. Il testo non c’è e passerà ancora molto prima di poter  leggere la nuova Costituzione del paese. Una manifestazione si organizza a Tunisi per il giorno del 23. In questi giorni aumenta la presenza della polizia nelle strade insieme al nervosismo generale. Qualche cosa di nuovo si sta preparando nel paese.  Grande scalpore suscita in la morte di un rappresentante politico del partito Nida Tounes, Mohamed Lotfi Naqdh. Quello che lascia sconcertati è in particolar modo la dichiarazione del Ministero dell’Inteno che imputano ad un infarto il motivo del decesso. Le immagini e le dichiarazioni dei presenti parlano di un attacco delle milizie di Ennahda e di violente percosse. La Tunisia è molto lontana dal trovare la sua strada. Da questo pomeriggio molto alta anche la tensione all’Università Mannuba dove doveva tenersi un concorso per importanti posti presso l’amministrazione pubblica.  Si sono presentati i candidati ma non la commissione esaminatrice. Una violenta manifestazione ha interessato l’Università ed è continuata nelle strade vicine all’istituto. E’ intervenuta la Guardia Nazionale. Questa è la situazione della Tunisia oggi, piccoli episodi che degenerano rapidamente. Si va dall’incendio del posto di polizia a Gabes e il blocco della strada principale alla guerriglia scoppiata a Djerba ai primi di ottobre quando non si è voluto accettare le decisioni prese con il Governatore, oltre 40 feriti in quest’occasione.   Aspettiamo il 23 ottobre, nulla cambierà ma si confina del buon senso.....

The 23 October expires the first year of the work of the constituent Assembly. The expecations of Tunisian people were disregarded. The text is not ready and they have to wait stilla long time before you can read the new Constitution in the country. A demonstration is held in Tunis for the day of 23. These days increases the police presence in the streets along with nervousness. Something new is preparing. Greate disappoint comes from  the death of a political party representative of Nida Tounes, Mohamed Lotfi Naqdh. What leaves you baffled is in particular the statement of the Interior’s Minister that attribute to a stroke the reason of death. Images and declarations of the present speak of a militia attack of Ennahda and violent beatings. The Tunisia is far from finding its way. This afternoon, tensions also at Mannuba University where had to take palce a competition for important posts in the public administration. The candidates where there but not the selection board. A violent strike has affected the University and continued in streets close to the Institute. It stepped in the National Guard. This is the situation in Tunisia today, small episodes that degenerate rapidly. They range from police fire at Gabes and blocking the main road, guerrilla warfare broke out in Djerba in early October when people from Guellala didn’t accept the decisions of the Governor, over 40 wounded on this occasion. We expect the 23 October, nothing will change but we hope in a quite day.
