NEARLY 300 SOLDIERS AND OPPOSITION FIGHTERS KILLED AS 2 MAJOR BATTLES RAGE IN SYRIA THIS WEEK:

More than 280 soldiers and Opposition fighters have been killed in the last 3 days in 2 major battles in Syria.


The 3 day battle for the base of the 80th Brigade just a few kilometres from Aleppo airport, cost the lives of around 150 combatants with roughly equal numbers on both sides killed, the Opposition winning the day.

The Syrian Army have said they intend to retake the base but since then Opposition fighters have taken over a school used by the military in the Sabaa Bahrat district of Aleppo city and have also retaken the 509th air defense base in the southern Aleppo suburb of Tal Hasel.
